Seven Leaf, located in Akwesasne, Ontario, became the first fully indigenous-owned and operated medicinal cannabis producer on September 27th. The company was fully licensed by Health Canada through the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR).

Seven Leaf is specifically located on Cornwall Island in Ontario and is under management by Akwesasne community members with direct experience with corporate framework, law enforcement, cultivation, and pharmaceuticals.

The company plans to hire 75 people to work general maintenance, cultivation, or staff positions. Completion of the hiring phase is expected within 6 months. The broad range of offered positions are steady and to attract graduates from high school and college.
