Aurora Cannabis Receives Cannabis Cultivation Facility Approval from Maltese Government
Aurora Cannabis Inc. (OTCQB: ACBFF) announced on July 24th that the company received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Malta Enterprise. The LOI grants the company approval on their application for a seed-to-pharma cannabis cultivation facility in Malta. This cultivation LOI is the only LOI that the Malta Enterprise has granted.
The new facility in Malta will include hybrid cultivation, manufacturing, and the distribution of cannabis and cannabis products. The cultivation and processing centers will be built to EU GMP standards. Exact dimensions and the design of the facility is yet to be announced, but will be soon.
Operation of the facility will be done by Aurora’s new subsidiary, Aurora Malta. Cherubino Ltd. (Cherubino) will partner with Aurora Cannabis to create Aurora Malta. Cherubino is Malta’s largest wholesaler of pharmaceuticals that has been in operation for over 100 years.
