Reverend Anthony Trufant allowed for the ‘extraordinary’ and agreed to host a full-day “Business of Cannabis” conference in the prominent Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC) in Brooklyn, NY.
The overall goal of the conference is to provide access to information on the cannabis industry to people of color.
Discussions that took place within the panels of industry professionals consisted of dispensary licensing process, social justice, and policy reform.
The overall goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity for a successful start within the cannabis industry.
Rev. Anthony Trufant, who is also Senior Pastor at EBC, made the decision to host the conference due to his belief that communities of color don’t get the chance to position themselves for an economic benefit. Rev. Trufant stated: “Too often is the case that communities of color – and black communities in particular – are left at the station while the train of economic opportunity pulls out.”
“This is the first time I’ve been in a church, and I think that’s gonna help normalize and bring people to it,” said Jacobi Holland, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of On The Revel. Jacobi co-founded On The Revel with Chief Experience Officer Lulu Tsui and both have a combined experience of over 15 years in cannabis technologies and software design.
