Aurora Cannabis Inc. (OTCQB: ACBFF) announced on June 12th that the company has signed into a binding agreement where Aurora will acquire all of the common shares of Anandia Laboratories Inc. The all share transaction of the privately-held Anandia common shares is value at an estimated $115 million.  

Anandia is a leader within the cannabis sciences field and holds many cannabis related intellectual property (IP) and patents for genetic markers.  

The company has many research and testing facilities. A major example is Anandia’s head corporate office, in Vancouver, British Columbia, which is a 12,700 sq. ft. research and development lab, and tissue culture facility. Their existing laboratory has plans for security upgrades in preparation for the legalization of cannabis in Canada.

Anandia is also developing a 22,500 sq. ft. “Cannabis Innovation Centre” in Comox, BC that will focus primarily on cannabis breeding and genetics. This facility will contain a 10,000 sq. ft. laboratory and is currently being constructed 5 minutes away from a major airport.
