ll-main-logoLeading cannabis e-commerce platform, LeafLink, just announced it has reached $1 billion in annualized orders. Launched in 2016, LeafLink has been helping licensed cannabis retailers to order, manage, review, and shop for vendors. The platform currently offers its services in the US and Canada and connects over 3,000 licensed cannabis retailers to more than 1,000 cannabis brands.

“Reaching the first billion-dollar mark is an important moment for the entire LeafLink team to reflect on and celebrate. It’s taken passion, execution and a relentless focus on our customers to bring us to this moment,” said Ryan G. Smith, co-founder and CEO of LeafLink. “What excites me most is that this is truly just the beginning for the LeafLink community, our team, and the industry as a whole.”

LeafLink currently accounts for 16% of all B2B wholesale cannabis orders in the United States, this in only 3 years of operation. Retailers use the e-commerce platform to shop for multiple brands, view the latest cannabis products, and manage orders. The company also offers vendors additional tools for order management, inventory tracking, customized reports, and customer relationship management (CRM) services.

This $1 Billion threshold was achieved just 3 months after Canopy Rivers and LeafLink reaching a deal that saw Canopy Rivers get an exclusive license for LeafLink’s U.S. based services as a service business-to-business marketplace and supply chain technology to legal international cannabis markets.

Ryan Smith, CEO and co-founder of LeafLink, said that “We are excited to join forces with Canopy Rivers, combining our industry-leading B2B marketplace technology with their expertise and strategic network in the global cannabis market. Together, we are creating the first seamless e-commerce experience across the global cannabis supply chain to further empower members of the LeafLink community.”

In the U.S. alone, LeafLink’s SaaS marketplace has an estimated penetration of 2,800 retailers. Its B2B marketplace includes $900 million in annual gross merchandise value.
